Wedding! How to plan your Big Day.

Prepare the wedding is not easy task. Almost overnight you have to be an expert in many fields, make important decisions and prepare and organize everything from scratches. You are happy, excited and overwhelmed. We prepare some simple tips and trick you can use to plan your Big Day.

Plan it in advance and:

■Establish your wedding budget. Be realistic. You will spend at list 25% more than you planed.
■Chose your wedding day date. Carefully consult with your fiancé and both families the best time for your wedding day. Be aware about special dates, like Valentine’s Day, 11/11/2011 etc. Having wedding in those dates will cost you more and needs long-term planning (some places and wedding professionals are booked for those days in years in advance)
■Go to popular book store and find books, wedding magazines, and wedding planning guides. They will help you to plan wedding theme, and will guide you through entire wedding planning process or if you prefer find good wedding coordinator.

■Prepare wedding guests list. Remember – longer list – more money your wedding will cost you.
■Choose a wedding venue. The right place will help to accommodate your wedding guests and create a unique atmosphere for your special day.
■Choose a caterer and decide type of food you would like during the wedding. Next decide how do you want your wedding dinner (lunch) be served (buffet, regular sitting dinner, hand food, buffet stations). How do you like the alcohol beverages like wine, beer, cocktail, drinks be served (open bar, complimentary bar etc.)
■ Find wedding photographer. From many wedding professionals photographer is the most important vendor. He/she will create first memories of your new family. After the wedding day, for the rest of your life you will have your wedding photographs and wedding album.

■Find wedding videographer. Good video will help to keep your wedding day fresh in your memory for many years.
■Choose invitations style and find place you can order them or to save some money you can explore stores like Michael’s, Jo-Ann, Office Depot, Office Max to find wedding invitations ideas and ready to use sets of invitations.
■Start looking for wedding dress! This is probably the most exciting part of wedding preparations! Go with your friends, Mom, sister, have fun! Try a lot off gowns. Take some pictures to remember dress you tried and take time to decide which dress suit you best.

■Choose your bridesmaid dresses.
■Help your fiancé to find and choose wedding suit/tuxedo. You can decide about renting it or buying. If you decide to buy suit or tuxedo choose rather classic style. He can use it after the wedding. If you prefer something more unique (like white tuxedo or classic wedding suit) it will be cheaper to rent it. He will never use it again.
■Help with tuxedo purchase / rental for your Dad and the groom party. They will need your help (trust me!)
■With your perfect wedding dress and wedding theme and color find a florist and choose perfect wedding bucket and flower decorations for wedding.
■Find wedding rental service and make arrangement about renting wedding linens.
■Find wedding cake vendors and order wedding cake. Schedule cake tasting session. Describe your dream cake. Bring some magazine photos to better explain your cake idea.

■Find DJ or band for your wedding party (if you plan to have one). Good DJ will not only play the music you like, but will organize all your party flow.
■Remember about involve your fiancé in wedding planning and organization. You will be happy to share this experience with him. You can do all planning and preparations together. You will be more relaxed with extra help and emotional support. And it is His day too!
Remember this is your time! Have some fun. Use this special occasion to be close with your fiance, families and friends. They love you and they will be happy to help – just ask. Don’t stress out and have a wonderful wedding!

How well the photographer works with you, how easily communicate with you? Do you and your fiancé feel good about this experience? How is the quality of images and post production process?

• Work with your fiancé. The Engagement Photo Session is a perfect opportunity to learn how to work together and what to expect from your fiancé in front of camera. Who is camera shy, how to loosen up, how to pose together, how to find you comfort zone?

How to prepare for Engagement Photo Session?

• Choose location. For your Engagement Photo Session choose a spot meaningful to you and your fiancé. If you don’t have this kind of place - think about spots with interesting elements which suits your style: the beach, an open field, a farm, a park, a train station, an interesting architectural structure, an industrial area, a garden store etc. Ask your photographer about multiple locations photo shoot. It will cost you a little more but it will give you different sets of photos with different feel and looks.

• Choose your outfits. You should be comfortable and able to move around easily but express your style. Plan your outfits to be appropriate for the location (park, farm - casual jeans plus strong color shirts; beach – light dress, cotton pants etc.) You can never be wrong with pair of jeans or a flowing dress. Some couples bring second sets of clothes to give them some options and variety in the shots on location. You should avoid WHITE color, strong patterns and T-shits with print messages (white washes you out unless you have quite dark skin, patterns and prints distract from your face). Darker, saturated color photographs best. Men should wear long pants (no shorts) and shirts rather than T-shirts. Ladies can definitely go for some sexy blouses, dresses and shoes but have comfortable flip-flops in your bag. Also be sure to avoid extra baggy or too- tight clothes. Keep your jewelry ultra simple to avoid flashy distractions in your photos. Wear only simple earrings with a matching necklace or bracelet and engagement ring.

• Choose props and themes. To add some fun to your engagement session think about some props you can use for your photos (hats, sunglasses, flowers, instruments, colorful balls, big lollipops). If you are looking for more natural, candid images think about something that represents your style, something you love to do together (picnic, travel, sandcastles on the beach, sport).

• Make-up, beauty and grooming. You will be photographed from head to toe and please be sure your hair, nails, toes and eyebrows are in the way you like it. Get a haircut a week before the session. If you can, schedule a wedding hair and make-up trial appointment for the same day as your engagement session. If this option is not possible, style your own hair and do your make-up, but remember less is better, don’t overdo it.

• Be yourself. Don’t stress out! This session is all about you. Get good rest the night before your session. Plan some extra time for travel to your photo shot spot. Have fun, laugh a lot. Have a good time! There's absolutely no pressure. Just be yourself.

10 Biggest Wedding Photography Mistakes (you can make)

Not Hiring a Professional Photographer -First mistake you can make is not hiring a professional photographer! Choose someone who is a professional and not just anyone with a digital camera and a website. Do your research online ( www.WeddingWire.com or www.perfectweddingguide.com), attend Bridal Shows to meet with local wedding photographers, use bridal magazines like Perfect Wedding Guide. Make sure the photographer you choose has the experience and ability to capture the moments of your wedding no matter what situations may arise. You should expect to spend between $2,000 and $6,000 for any decent wedding photography.

Not Choosing a Photographer You Connect With
Make sure that you and your photographer get along. He/she will be a closest person to you during your wedding day! If you don’t like and not trust your photographer it's going to be a very long and very bumpy ride.

Waiting Too Long to Book Your Photographer
If you find a great photographer, book them! Good photographers book a year or more out and won't be available forever. Nothing is more frustrating than choosing a wedding photographer and then finding out that they booked out your date.

Skipping the Engagement Photo Session
Having the Engagement Photo Session is not only an extra expense connected you’re your wedding. Engagement sessions increase your confidence and comfort level in front of the camera. It helps you to prepare for the wedding “photo shoot” in relax, fun and stress free atmosphere. This leads to wedding day comfort and trust in the photographer.

Letting Relatives Get in the Way
We have a name in the industry for a guest who shows up with pro photo equipment and takes 'unofficial wedding photos' - we call him Uncle Bob. Uncle Bob may think he's doing you a favor by taking more shots for the bride and groom, but usually he just gets in the way and makes us miss our shots, interfere with our studio flashes etc.. Tell Uncle Bob to leave the camera at home and just enjoy his time at the wedding without working.

Not Getting Help Organizing Your Guests
Designate someone that you trust and who knows your family and friends to be in charge of organizing people for formal photos before and after the ceremony. That person can gather the people needed, direct them on what shots they will be in, and then release them when they are done. It keeps things moving quickly, smoothly, and enjoyably for everybody and gives you warranty to get all formal shots you requested.

Not Sticking to the Schedule
Pay attention and respect the schedule you and your photographer discuss prior to your wedding. Don’t be late! Being an hour late will not only interfere with the wedding day schedule but it will be impossible to take all wedding photos you want to have! Don't just assume it only takes 10 minutes. You don’t need an extra stress on your wedding day!

Asking for Too Many Formal Shots
Don’t plan having formal photos with all your family members and friends invited for your wedding. It will be impassible to follow a schedule with two-page spreadsheet of every combination for family portraits. Please remember – one formal photo will take 2 to 5 minutes. Bigger group on single photo means more time for it. Prepare with your photographer a realistic schedule of your formal photo shoot. Your photographer will need also some time for some romantic photos of bride and groom.

Trying to Make Things "Perfect"
It is your BIG DAY. Just have fun! If some little detail didn't turn out 100 percent like you had planned, go with it, have fun, and keep smiling. We did not see a single wedding going exactly like was planned. The most important is a celebration of your love, your families and friends.

Perfect Wedding Guide Bridal Show.

This was just amazing day! We start very early at 6:00am. We packed our staff and start our adventure! At Rosen Centre we met Elizabeth, Brandi, Jennifer and others from Perfect Wedding Guide. We start set up our boot and at 11:45 we met first Bride! And later a lot of Brides-to-be. We talked, showed samples of our work, scheduled some meetings and booked few weddings.
It was just pleasure to met so many happy faces. This is the best part of my job. Newer ending happiness around me!

Senior portrait summer!

Summer time was really exciting for me. I had an opportunity to work with some young, talented and beautiful ladies. It was a pleasure to meet them. We had a lot of fun together during a Senior Portrait Session.

Next day we went outside for two hour photo session.

Olga is a young college student from Krakow/Poland. She came over to Florida for family vacation and we had a short photo session in my studio.

A Sophisticated Bridal Showcase Melbourne

Hello Friends,
For me the most important event in July (right after The Independence Day) was Melbourne Bridal Show. On July 19 in Florida Tech Clemente Center I met with more than 150 Brides-to-be! It was really amazing experience. I had a chance to show examples of my work like albums, photo books and slideshows. For four hours I met and talked to wonderful people – Brides, Grooms, their friends and parents. Everybody was focused on making The Wedding day perfect. A lot of brides like my photography style and quality of my work. I am very excited to meet with them again and discus all their photography needs and in the near future be their wedding photographer!

Few minutes before the show...

I would like to thank my Bridal Show team. Jan and Samantha did a lot to accomplish Bridal Show success. Samantha designed the booth layout and all graphic work. She created company logo, business cards, info cards and brochures. Jan took care of all the logistics. He was responsible for show preparation, planning and “muscle work”. Under his supervision everything went smooth and without any unwanted surprise. Jan and Samantha help a lot during a Bridal Show. They talked with Brides, answered questions, helped to show examples of my work. They took care of every person that stopped by. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

You can go, see, feel, taste, compare products and services, find new ideas for a wedding day, and so on...all in one place! It saves time, because you don’t have to drive all around the city to visit a wedding vendor shop or you are not glued to the computer screen for hours just to find a wedding photographer or make-up artist. It saves money because a lot of vendors present at the Bridal Shows offer discounts, specials, extras, etc. It gives you peace of mind because you are working with professionals, well known in the industry with established reputation. You don’t have to worry about every detail. They will take care of you and make your wedding day memorable and perfect!

Monday - perfect day for start...

Hello Friends,
Today is a brand new day for me - I start my on- line diary! I am new to blogging and I am a little shy, but I do love to share my stories and I would like to introduce very special couples I met…
Working as a photographer, every single day I have the opportunity to meet wonderful people and this is the best part of my job. Often times, I get a chance to experience and to photograph places and individuals that are out of the ordinary. One such time was when I photographed a wedding in London…

The amazing couple, Beata Aleksandrowicz, the bride, and Jean- Marc Delacourt, the groom, planned the very unique wedding. Everything was different: Beata’s dress color – deep orange rather than traditional white, street parade to City Hall for the wedding instead of a limo ride and wedding party in London Hyde Park!!! To top it all, they did not accept wedding gifts, instead, they asked for donation to help African Bushman in Namibia. For a glimpse of a Bushmen story visit their website at http://www.puremassage.com/bushmen.htm They had collected enough donations to help provide food, clothes, and medicine for Bushmen for two years!!!

Their wedding was just amazing. Two hundred wedding guests from all around the world (South Africa, Namibia, Poland, Belgium, USA, France), pot luck buffet, live band (Bride and Groom prepared mini concert for guests and sang even though they are not professional singers (they did take singing classes, however, as I found out later), raffle tickets lottery to raise more money for Bushmen as part of their wedding reception, very delicious wedding cake and huge gazebo with dancing floor…

This really was most untypical wedding that I photographed and I want just to share with you this wonderful idea for a unique event. Beata and Jean Marc started life together in style, with generosity, open hearts and sharing love with people in need.
